Jennifer C. Hunt is a sociologist and university professor. She has done fieldwork among police in New York City and Philadelphia and also worked in the training division of the NYPD. Her publications include police department training materials, a book on ethnography and multiple articles in scholarly journals in the fields of anthropology, sociology and psychology.

Her areas of expertise include police culture, use of force, hostage negotiation, qualitative methods, and risk and injury in sports.

She is currently doing research in the area of military sociology.
